Coach Newton competed with Club North during her youth volleyball years (13-18's), and has been coaching Juniors Volleyball in all age groups from 13-17s in the Premier Division. Coach Newton went to Mid America in Olathe for college and played volleyball as a Libero/DS. For the past 11 years, she has coordinated volleyball operations as the General Manager at Volleyball Beach in Martin City. Coach Newton who is getting married this summer of 2023 will change her last name to Harris. She is a big Chiefs fan.
Phillip Bonino - HC. 13-1Select CNVKC Mizuno
Coach Bonino has been coaching club volleyball for 14 years in all age groups. His oldest daughter competed for Club North through her middle and high school careers. He has been instrumental in getting several of his previous club teams in the older age groups get recruited for College Volleyball. In his day job, he owns the Quaff bar and grill in Downtown Kansas City.

Coach Stacey competed in Volleyball in High School and has been in the KCP Volleyball coaching cadre for several years. She also has officiated parochial league in the Kansas City metro for 10 years. Her daughter competed for Club North from 10-18's in the Select, Premier and National level of competition.

Coach Janell has been a part of the Northland volleyball community for some time. She began her love for volleyball playing for Park Hill High School where she helped lead her team to 2 state championships, and 1 runner-up finish. Janell then earned a full athletic scholarship to Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State University), playing competitive D-1 volleyball while earning her degree in Education. She then returned to the Park Hill School District to begin her teaching and coaching career. She spent the first 14 years of her teaching career as a special education teacher and coaching volleyball at Park Hill High School- 2 years as the JV coach and 12 years as the Varsity coach. She helped lead her team to three final 4 Missouri High School State appearances during her tenure. Each season was a competitive season, being a competitive force in conference and district play. Janell continues to teach special education in the Park Hill School District where she continues to encourage and build confidence within the youth of our community. She looks forward to continuing to develop volleyball players and building character strengths in each athlete she coaches. Janell is married to her husband, Tom, and has one daughter and two step-sons.

Coach Brooke competed in club volleyball with Club North Volleyball all throughout her 14-18's years. She started her coaching career at Club North as an assistant coach on a 13 premier team. She then became a 13 select head coach and an 11 select assistant coach. She is currently a special education teacher at Central High School, and the head volleyball coach there as well.
Justin Johnson "Coach Johnson" - AC. 14-2 Premier CNVKC MizunoCoach Johnson is going to his second year of coaching at Club North. He will be moving up with Coach Brooke after assisting her in 2022-23 season. As an athlete, he competed in football at MidAmerica Nazarene University where he graduated with a Kinesiology degree. Coach Johnson is a strength and conditioning, weightlifting trainer and football staff member at Lees Summit North High School. His passion is all things sports and helping athletes reach their full potential.

Competed indoor and outdoor Volleyball since 1990 winning along the way 1997 USAV Adult Open Championship, Mens A Bronze Division Championship, and several Kansas City Corporate Challenge Mens Division with The Marines.
Coaching experience includes coaching with various Kansas City and Cleveland Ohio area clubs and colleges. Qualified multiple teams for USAV Girls Junior National Championships multiple times and NJCAA DII Championship.
• Maverick Volleyball Club in Cleveland, Maverick 16 Elite won 2022 Mideast Qualifier USA Division Championship
• Finished 2nd in the 2022 OVR Bid Qualifier earning a GJNC National Division bid.
• Finished 3rd overall in the 2022 USAV GJNC National Division.
• Coached collegiately in Kansas City and Cleveland. Earned NJCAA DII District and Regional Coach of the Year awards twice at Longview College.
• Summer Camp Clinician for NCAA DI, DII and high school programs in Kansas City and Cleveland areas.
• Former Club Director of Southland VBC in South Kansas City area.
• USAV National Team Development Program (formerly USAV High Performance Tryout Coach.
• HP Tryout Lead Evaluator and Summer Camp Coach.
• Padua Franciscan High School in Cleveland Ohio JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach. Varsity has earned two OHSAA DII State Championships 2016 & 2017.
OHSAA DI State Championships finalist in 2018, 2019, & 2020.
Padua Franciscan was nationally ranked in top 10 by Max Preps 2018 – 2020.
2019 finished ranked #1 in the country.
In addition to his coaching background, Koach Kelly has officiated at USAV, NFHS, NCAA DII-III, NAIA, and NJCAA levels. Currently USAV Junior National (Retired) level official.
Koach Kelly has been married for 40yrs to his wife Deborah and has three sons; Kelly Donte, Brandon Marcel, and Carnel Duran. He has worked for Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) for 30 yrs. Kelly was active duty with the United States Marines Corps for 13.5 yrs prior to DFAS, where he was infantry, accountant, and drill instructor. Kelly just retired in December 2022 after a total of 43.5 yrs of federal service. Koach Kelly’s believe his role as a coach is to take athletes to where they want to go, but cannot get there themselves.

Coach Molly competed in club volleyball for 13 years. She also competed as a Libero/DS in College at Columbia College and Park University. She began coaching at Club North in the 12 and 16 Age Group and went on to gained further experience working with 14 and 18 Age Groups with another club in the Heart of America Region. Coach Molly is currently student-teaching at Park University while getting her Masters Degree via Adams State University.
Fun Facts: She is Obsessed with Disney. She has two dogs and two cats (named after Disney Characters). Her parents go to all games and tournaments!
