Club North is committed to the ongoing personal development of each team member through example and encouragement of positive learning, physical and social attitudes.
Club North 11-Regional: Head Coach: Michelle Miller-Michelle played volleyball in high school and her love of the sport is the reason she is continuing as a club coach. Michelle assisted with the 12 teams last year at Sandsharks and took over as head coach of the 12-1 team midseason. This is Michelle’s 1st year with Club North and she is excited to have a positive influence on the players.
Club North 12-National 1: Head Coach: Michelle Frazier-This is Michelle's 5th year of coaching for Club North. Michelle has been involved in volleyball for over 20 years by playing high school volleyball, playing in recreational leagues or coaching recreational and competitive volleyball teams. Michelle enjoys working with the athletes and helping them improve their skills. Michelle has assisted Patty with many aspects of KC Premiere and Club North.
Club North 12-Regional : Head Coach: Jodi Smith-This will be her 5th year with Club North. She has played volleyball for Northwest Missouri State as an OH and DS and coached at Avila College for 3 years including a Conference Championship. Jodi previously coached her middle daughter in club for the past 2 seasons is excited about coaching her youngest daughter in Club North this year.
Club North 13 National: Karen Gates- Karen is in her 2nd year at Club North this year, but not new to volleyball. She has been on both sides of the game as a player and a coach. She received a 4 year scholarship to University of Minnesota where she played and then continued to play on Women’s teams. She has also coached many Junior volleyball teams in the Minneapolis, Arizona and Illinois area as well as high school teams. Karen's goal is to teach young athletes the game of volleyball, both mentally and physically but also encourage personal development in a positive way
Club North 13 National: Head Coach: Trevor Bash-Trevor has been associated with Club North Volleyball since the early days playing as well as coaching. He is an experienced coach who has been playing and coaching volleyball for over 17 years. Trevor’s coaching philosophy is to teach fundamentals, encourage team work, and foster passion for the game. His club coaching experience includes teams at the 12, 13, 15, 16, & 17 levels.
Club North 13 Regional: Head Coach: Michele Wagner- Michele played in High school, and has continued to play on various Adult Leagues. Michele was an assistant coach for our 13-3 team last year. This is Michele’s 2nd year with club north, and she looks forward to the challenges and teaching the girls the proper techniques. Michele has been playing volleyball since the 4th grade.
Club North 14 National: Head Coach: Rachel Schieber- Rachel has been on both sides of the ball as a coach and player. She played at Park Hill High School and after graduating from KU, she has continued with the game by coaching KC Premiere. She has also assisted her 2 younger sisters in coaching the game. She is looking forward to her 2nd year with Club North as Head Coach of the 14’s. Assistant Coach: Cassie Keast--Cassie is excited to begin her first year as a Club North coach. She comes from a small town in Western Kansas, and grew up playing the game. She is now a student at KUMed.
Club North 14 National: Head Coach: Jason Long-Jason coached the boys Club North team for the first year in 1992 and played USVBA for three years. He also has coached in other sports for roughly three years. He likes to play the sport and feels blessed that he got to coach the younger players. The girls that Jason coached last year improved their stats, won 1st place in their very first tournament, moved up in the overall ranking throughout the season. Jason will be returning to Club North for his 3rd year.
Club North 14 Regional: Head Coach: Mike Waner- Mike has been involved with volleyball for about 35 years beginning with the first men’s intramural league at Longview Junior College. After many years of playing in numerous adult leagues and tournaments, he started coaching in the junior girls program in 1998. He is a CAP II certified coach with USAV and the current Head VB coach at Raytown South H.S. Assistant Coach: Randy Francis- During the fall, spring and summer seasons he has coached his daughter’s club team to several league championships. After participating in a coaching clinic presented by USA Volleyball in the fall of 2005, he served as the head coach for one of Club North’s under 15’s teams.
Club North 15 National: Head Coach: Chelle Holland- She brings a 30+ years of experience to Club North both as a coach and former collegiate player. She earned a full ride to the University of Memphis and was also a part of the player/coaching staff for numerous U of M Camps and Clinics. As a Nebraska high school player, Chelle was All Conference two years, was named to the Super Regional Team and NE All Star Team, and was voted 1st Team All State. After graduating from University of Memphis, Chelle was the head coach at St. Agnes Academy High School for 4 years and built supporting programs to improve the quality of St. Agnes teams.

North15- National: Coach:
Co-coach: Jake
Penolio–This is Jake’s first year
coaching for Club North. He currently attends Park University on a
volleyball scholarship. He comes to Park from Mar Vista High School in
Imperial Beach, California where he was named player of the year in his
conference during junior and senior year. He made 1st team
all league three years in a row from his sophomore to senior year. He
has been involved in various club and high school teams within the San
Diego area. He looks forward to bringing his experience to Club North.
Club North 15-Regional: Head Coach: Mike Nielsen- Mike was born and raised in the northland and is a Park Hill graduate. He has played for the following teams, 1994 Team KC, 1995 and 1996 Club North, 1997 KC Smash, 1998 BVAC, 1999 The Urge (13th at Club Nationals), and 2000 thru 2004 Graceland University. Mike’s coaching experience includes coaching Graceland’s JV Men’s Team in 2005 and assistant Coach for Club North at both the 17’s and 18’s. This is his 4th year of returning to Club North as a coach.
Club North 16-National: Head Coach: Courtney Smith- Courtney played volleyball in high school and coached teams in a youth league for 2 years. After High School she received a full scholarship to Missouri Valley College. This is Courtney’s 2nd year with Club North. She was head coach of the 14 team last year. Courtney works with the girls mostly on core fundamentals no matter what the age. She believes that positive attitude along with positive reinforcement are the basis of every great team.

has a Masters Degree from the University of Iowa in Recreation
Management. He graduated from William Penn
University with a degree in Physical Education and Coaching. Roman
Gonzalez-
After playing in High School, Roman founded the Volleyball program for
Cardinal Newman University in St. Louis, he then began coaching at the
scholastic level in 1998 and coaching Junior Olympic volleyball in early
2000 and Roman has coached teams of all ages both Gold and Silver. Roman
has his Cap 1 Coaching Certificate.
Club
North 18-National:
Head Coach: Chris Bair-
This will be Chris's 3rd season at
Club North. In the previous years Chris has coached the 15's and 16's
regional teams and this year will be making the move to the 18's
national team. In 2008, Chris coached the freshman team at St. Pius X
High School and is currently the head varsity and jv coach at Cristo Rey
High School in Kansas City.
Assistant
Coach 18: Roman Gonzalez-
