Practices: We
will continue to have open practices for all parents. However, parents
must remain strictly quiet and supportive observers. A parent may shag
balls if asked to by the coach. National teams will get first option for
the third practice per week.
-
Tournaments:
For Regional teams, the fees will include 7 regional tournaments plus
HOA Regional's. For National teams, 2 National Qualifiers or 1 National
Qualifier plus Omaha President’s Day Cup in addition to 3 local
tournaments and Power league. If a National team does not make the
Power League, then 4 additional local tournaments will be selected. I
will give the coaches of the National Teams a budget for their
tournaments and they can decide which tournaments they want to enter for
their team. Any additional expenses will be passed on to the parents.
-
Uniforms:
The uniform package for every player on either the National or Regional
teams will include 2 jerseys, top and bottom warm-ups, shorts, t-shirt,
and backpack.
-
Playing Rule:
Amount of playing time for the National Teams will be determined by
their coaches. Players on the National Teams will be told when offered a
position their foreseen amount of playing time. No amount of playing
time is guaranteed and must be explained accordingly. For Regional
teams, playing time will be a minimum of 40% provided the players attend
80% of all practices and one of the last two practices leading up to
their next tournament.

24 Hour Rule:
Coaches should offer a positive developmental environment for a child
and should help serve as role models for game skills and
sportsmanship. However, parents will sometimes disagree with a coach’s
decision or approach, especially when it involves their child. Parents
have to understand that the coach does not represent a player. The coach
represents the team and must make decisions from a team perspective
first and a player perspective second. For parents, it is important to
separate their child’s sports development from game emotions. For this
reason, we have adopted the “24 Hour Rule” which simply states that
coaches will not discuss a game or situation until at least 24 hours
after the fact. This important rule does two things. First, it removes
the discussion away from the presence of the players. Second, it allows
all parties to have time to put things in perspective and to “cool off”
if necessary. If parents will respect the 24 Hour Rule, their concerns
are more likely to be fully addressed in a reasonable discussion. More
importantly, the player’s enjoyment of a game will not be marred by an
ill-timed confrontation between parents and their coach.
-
Payments:
We have
the fees set up in 3 payments. Regional team’s first payment will
be $310 with 2 additional payments of $305 each. National Teams
first payment will be $450 with 2 addition payments of $450 each. If a payment is not made within 30 days
of the due date, you will be notified and the player will be suspended
from practicing and tournaments until payment is received. For parents
who have payment issues, if they contact me beforehand, I will work with
them and their player who may or may not be suspended as a result.
We pride ourselves on teaching the proper
volleyball techniques of PASS, SET and HIT.
